If you are looking to take out insurance for Permanent Loss of Use then, depending on your horse’s value, cover may be subject to specific x-ray requirements.
X-rays are required if your horse’s market value/purchase price is £10,000 or above, regardless of the sum you are insuring him for.
It is important that the x-rays taken are to the exact specification as set out below and that both front shoes are removed. The x-rays must be dated with the horse’s name on each image.
